'Accessibility' can mean a number of different
things to different people. It can mean how people get about,
how easy it is for them to get to places which provide services,
the different ways that services can be provided and how easy it is
for those services to be used by different people.
The Community Priorities for this Theme have been
assessed through research and consultation to help address these
issues for the District.
The Community Priorities
are:
- To work with Highway Authorities to ensure that
key road and transport infrastructure and public transport
improvements will have been made and that improvements will have
been made to existing congestion hot-spot areas
- Encourage transport providers to provide
services which better meet local transport needs
- Improve access to services and information in
rural areas
- Support the retention of village services and
facilities
- People who come to live and work in the District
will be able to easily find out about the District and the services
that are provided here
We are working towards achieving these priorities
in a variety of ways and will monitor progress using national and
local indicators and regular progress reports to the LSP’s Steering
Group.
